The Purple Carpet INC. More than an organization, we are a movement of hope, resilience, and transformation, educating to prevent and empowering to transform lives.

The Story of The Purple Carpet Inc.
The Purple Carpet Inc. was born from pain transformed into purpose, resilience transformed into action, and a deep desire to help others heal, grow, and find hope.
Founded by Verónica Núñez alongside her husband and co-founder, Humberto García, The Purple Carpet began in 2016 as a strong community movement dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence, sexual assault, emotional wellness, and personal empowerment at a time when these topics were rarely discussed openly in events, communities, or social media the way they are today.
As a survivor of domestic violence, sexual assault, and kidnapping, Verónica understood firsthand the emotional pain, fear, silence, confusion, and isolation that many victims experience. Instead of allowing her story to define her limitations, she chose to transform her experiences into a mission of prevention, education, and community support for others who may feel unseen, unheard, or alone.
What began as a passionate movement fueled by love, empathy, and determination eventually grew into something much bigger. In 2021, The Purple Carpet officially became a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the State of Texas, headquartered in Houston, Texas. Today, the organization proudly celebrates 10 years of impact, advocacy, education, and community service.
Over the years, The Purple Carpet has helped educate, empower, support, and connect countless individuals and families with valuable information, community resources, educational programs, and emotional support initiatives. Through conferences, educational workshops, community outreach programs, awareness campaigns, empowerment events, and prevention initiatives, the organization continues working to create safer, stronger, and more informed communities.
The organization has also developed community educational initiatives such as Purple Path, Purple Coffee, Brilla Sin Miedo (“Shine Without Fear”), and Connect Without Fear, programs designed to promote emotional wellness, resilience, digital education, prevention awareness, personal growth, and community connection through accessible and supportive environments.
On September 26, 2021, the City of Houston officially honored the organization with a proclamation recognizing “The Purple Carpet Day” in Houston, Texas — a meaningful milestone that reflected the impact the movement had already created within the community. In 2023, The Purple Carpet also received recognition from the Texas House of Representatives, along with additional recognitions and community acknowledgments for its continued commitment to education, prevention, empowerment, and advocacy.
Today, The Purple Carpet continues moving forward with the same heart and purpose that inspired its creation: to educate, empower, uplift, and remind people that healing, growth, and hope are possible. The organization believes that through prevention, education, compassion, and community support, lives can be transformed and stronger futures can be built for generations to come.
The Purple Carpet is more than an organization.
It is a movement of resilience, hope, healing, education, and empowerment.
